Remember that New York Times/CBS poll which found Tea Party supporters were more educated and successful than the general public? The poll contained another interesting find: 52% of the general public believe President Barack Obama’s policies are pushing America toward socialism.
Well, that’s only 48% of Americans who either don’t have a clue what socialism is, or lust for socialism but don’t want their fellow Americans to realize it’s knocking on the door. Given our liberal public education system and decades of indoctrination by the “mainstream” media, I suppose that’s not too bad.
Not surprisingly, the percentage of Tea Party supporters who realize this is much higher: 92%. There must have been a few infiltrators in the polling sample there.
