The question has come to me a few times in the last six months, and the short and sweet response has been, “You know when your with a group of folks and it does not ‘feel’ right then either it is you or the group. In either case, it is sometimes best to just move on to something else…”

Almost two years ago in Myrtle Beach, a small group of concerned citizens started gathering to voice their concerns on where the Federal Government has/had gone in the last couple of decades and this most recent one in skirting around the Constitution. This small group grew to put on two events in 2009 the April 15th TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Protest and then the July 4th TEA Party Protest. During the time of the arrangements and work on the April 15th event, I was busy working with C4L (Campaign For Liberty) and attempting to grow the District One leadership and organization, therefore, I had very limited involvement in the April event other than being present and getting to know some of the members. The July event was a whole other story.

The July event brought about real growth of the little band of citizens. We (some twenty folks) worked on a mission statement, legal formation of a LLC/non-profit, officers were formally elected, and banking accounts were set up for future events and fundraising with the hopes of real growth before the 2010 election season.

When strong willed folks gather together, it can be a little “trying” from time to time when the objectives are moved or switched or just flat out hijacked to become something the original core never envisioned. I will just leave it at that without going into some of the rather sorted details of wee hour e-mails, “board meetings”, and other strange events leading up to the July 2009 event. After the event, I really wanted nothing else to do with what the group had become at that time. So rather than waste time and effort fixing it, I parted ways quietly and got back to the C4L and Charleston TEA Party.

When I heard that the core was getting back together to continue with the original mission, I jumped with joy (near about) and threw my hat back into the new group. We formed and very purposely did not put the letters “T”, “E”, or “A” in our new groups title. Not because we did not hold true to the goals and objectives of the national TEA Party groups, but because we did not want any feathers ruffled or mistakes made as to the two groups in Horry County. The membership voted on and approved the label “Carolina Patriots”. Because we were made up of both North Carolina and South Carolina folks and we were mostly concerned on getting our Country back on track to be governed like the Patriots of our nation at its forming in the latter 1700s.

Now there are three groups in Horry County, two with the TEA label and our band of Patriots. All three groups seem intent on the same purpose and stated goals so there really isn’t any reason for name calling or putting down one group over the other. Heck look at the Republican Party in Horry County – there is the County Party and some five or six other groups with the label of (location) Republican Club/Party. They have their spats, but all are working on a common goal and objectives – they just differ a bit on certain issues from time to time.

The three Constitutionalist groups in Horry County can work together, but we really need to look out for each other less our membership be taken over by folks from say groups that would like to see the end of the Constitutional Awakening in America like say – Crash The TEA Party Group (which seem the website has been taken down as they reform under a new label). One mistake I made when leaving the MBTP after the July event was not voicing my concerns with the leadership. This left the “new folks” with out a transition team and only the new leadership to believe on past actions. Well, I still won’t go there, but you can read for yourself the issues as they keep making to press in the Alternative monthly publication in Horry County.

So the lesson here: “Keep fighting the good fight people!”

We have allowed the “progressives” forty plus years of destructive rule in Washington DC, it will not be fixed with just one or two elections – but we can fix it. Get busy getting busy, or get the hell out of the way of folks that will work towards fixing it.

God Bless America!

http://secularstupidest.com Herman Cain lead a Q&A session at the Douglas County Tea Party when a young woman asked him about the attack by the Left on our Judeo-Christian heritage in America…He addressed her question, then went to the last question of the night, and the crowd was not expecting what happened next…
