Live 8 July 2, 2005

Ah the ultimate in human get together and feel good about contributions to assisting other humans need for food/aide.

The Live 8 website states this result of the concerts:

WHAT THEY PROMISED

5 days after the LIVE8 concerts the G8 leaders met. And they had heard us. Here are some of the promises that YOU got them to make:

  • $50 billion more aid per year by 2010
  • AIDS drugs to all those who need them, and care for all AIDS orphans
  • debt cancellation for 38 countries, with 18 benefiting this year
  • Free, quality primary education and basic healthcare for all children.
  • AIDS drugs for all who need them, and care for all AIDS orphans.
  • Treatment and bed nets to halve deaths from malaria.
  • Vaccinations to eradicate polio.

If these promises are kept, with no strings attached, they could save over 4 million lives a year by 2010. You personally helped to make that happen..

Well however the outcome and ultimate results of the concerts one thing is for certain that Pink Floyd the full group came together to play a four song set. The band had been through a lot in the ’80s and ’90s which caused Roger Waters to not be in the tours Aimee and I enjoyed. The later part of the 1980s the lawsuits were over and the three members Gilmore, Wright, and Mason toured with extras as they presented two albums that showed new audience what had made the group such an integral part of original rock music.

Presented here at Beach Banter is the full four song set from the best versions I have found on the internet of that night.
